Watching to watch was the title of the 2016 reporter workshop

Personali Urbani _ Festival of photography and architecture
2016 edition – “Fuorimondo”
From 13 to 29 May 2016, at the Catalan Arch of Palazzo Pinto, in the magical historic center of Salerno, the 2016 edition of Personali Urbani was held: 3 weekends of exhibitions, debates, workshops, portfolio readings and shows. The 3rd edition of Personali Urbani, a photography and architecture exhibition, opened on Friday 13 May 2016, starting from 7.00 pm, in the splendid setting of the Catalan Arch of Palazzo Pinto. The 2016 edition, which has the title “Il Fuorimondo, because the world is in the eyes of those who observe it”, sees the participation of important photographers such as Mario Ferrara, photographers such as the photographic collective Personali Urbani, composed of Ugo Villani, Francesca Albanese, Ilaria Smeriglio, Giovanni Linguiti and Nicola Feo, and new visions with the project “Portraits of Migrants” which exhibits some photos taken by young migrants who interpreted Salerno with new eyes, the exhibition “Portraits of Migrants“: the city seen through the eyes of refugees, to understand what those who arrive see and what limits those who land in Italy illegally encounter. For the three weeks of the event, the historic building will host exhibitions, conferences, debates, workshops for photographers, portfolio readings, literary readings, theatrical and musical events with Italian and international artists. All connected by a single common thread: the world beyond our eyes.
The event was organized by Personali Urbani, a group of architects and creatives (Nicola Feo, Silvia Frassetto, Davide Guariglia, Lycourgos Lambrinopoulos, Francesco Montella and Ugo Villani) born in Salerno with the aim of creating a gathering cultural moment for cities, following the most important European examples.

PERSONALI URBANI PRESENTS THE PHOTOGRAPHIC REVIEW WITH ARCHITECTURE DEBATE “VISIBLE CITIES | PHOTOGRAPHY, ARCHITECTURE, VISIONS”
On Thursday 5 March and until 5 April, the second edition of the photographic exhibition and architectural debates of the Personali Urbani collective entitled “visible cities” was inaugurated at the Catalan Arch of Palazzo Pinto, via Mercanti Salerno, curated by project 2.0 , Nicola Feo, Ugo Villani.
“Every city is the result of the intertwining of the past and the modern. Urban spaces tell us who we are and where we are going.”
It is the slow sedimentation of interactions between the environment and people and as such it is made of lights and shadows, sounds and silences, visions and perceptions, flavours, scents and dreams. Above all, every city is in the eye of the beholder.
Urban Personali was born as a filter to see urban reality through the eyes of artists, architects and photographers who are also very different from each other thanks to small spots of light on different cities around the world.
This year’s edition consists of 5 evenings, one per week whose vernissage is scheduled every Thursday starting from 5 March from 7.30 pm.
The first evening focused on the theme of the hidden city includes the inauguration of the permanent exhibition of the Neapolitan photographer Luciano Ferrara entitled Frammenti di muro – the Berlin Wall and the exhibition of the young Neapolitan photographer Pasquale Autiero entitled Canto Notturno. Each opening meeting will be animated by a “chat between friends” on one or more aspects related to the culture of the “CITY” with particular attention to the themes that range between the hidden city, the utopian city, the ancient city and the metropolitan city, until we arrive at the futuristic city.

The Aurelio Petroni Foundation presents a photographic and sound research project in the Picentini area. The theme proposed to the artists is “FACE AS TERRITORY”
From 1 to 30 July 2012, the exhibition with sound and photographic installations will be held at the Foundation’s headquarters in San Cipriano Picentino. Giantrographs will also be displayed on the streets of the town.
Seven photographers. One sound artist. A plurality of faces and voices through 14 eyes and two ears. Only one territory. From the combination of these elements, the project Face as territory arises and it is promoted by the Aurelio Petroni Foundation. The project, which joins different disciplines like photography and sound art with an ethnographic study, is the expression of a look on the Picentini territory (in particular San Cipriano Picentino) and on its population, a mine of landscape treasures, memories, knowledge and traditional usages. The Aurelio Petroni Foundation, which it’s based in San Cipriano Picentino, will be in charge of the organization of the event. FAP’s main mission is promoting projects of artistic residence and supporting the emerging artistic creation, through integration and interaction between contemporary art, in all its expressions and forms, and territory, encouraging the idea of cultural and artistic exchange as an instrument of richness and a place for new experimentations. The project Face as territory starts from the will of bringing the contemporary artistic practices near to the territory and its story, stimulating the rediscovery of these places’ identity.
